Role: Information Architecture, WordPress customization, User Experience, UI design, Copywriting

I worked on the relaunch and redesign of their website with a focus on increasing sales and improving ease of use accross all device types.
One of the main challenges involved was simplifying content. The old website had become overwhelming in its content and navigation. Due to the vast products, services and partners, it was hard to get a clear overview. Over time, it had slowly become fragmented and unorganized as things were added, edited and moved.
During the project kickoff, I got to know their business objectives, target audience, content needs and customer thoughts. During this discussion, I also reviewed the old website, in terms of the user experience, design, the information architecture and ease of finding content.
A big part of the design overhaul was the information architecture. The old site had tons of content with some new content that we wanted to include. Sifting through and categorizing it all in a way that would make sense to our target audience was a task.
Once we had some of the basic questions answered, I worked on a visual style guide, informtation architecture, copywriting and page layouts (heavily customizing a WP template). A functional concept was created including features, interaction design principles through page level wireframes. Several rapid prototyping sessions helped gain feedback from users and various business units.
As we built this first version of the website, we knew that it was going to expand in future iterations. We did our best to include only the most important features and information. Feedback collected from this iteration would help in adding and refining content down the road.
